Rule of Thirds and the Forehead.
Try to compose most photographs with the rule of thirds. It really does make a difference to the impact on the image.
I practice with my Iphone camera as a way to train myself to see the composition and critique my shots. If I see something of interest, say the shadows are falling in a cool way or there is a line of trees backlit, then I snap a few pics and analyze the look.
For couples, have them push their foreheads together. It will create an immediate reaction with makes for some fun shots.
